Lockdown in Delhi: Know what will be closed and which services will be operational

As of March 31, many services will be affected under the ongoing lockdown in Delhi. During this time no public transport will run. However shops of essential goods will remain open.

In view of the increasing number of patients of Corona virus, seven districts of Delhi have also been locked up till 31 March. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lt. Governor Anil Baijal announced this on Sunday.

Lockdown in Delhi: Know what will be closed and which services will be operational


Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the number of corona patients is increasing. We do not want this infection to reach the third stage and the death toll will increase a lot, so there will be a lockdown in Delhi from 6 am on March 23 to March 31.

As of March 31, many services will be affected under the ongoing lockdown in Delhi. During this time no public transport will run. However shops of essential goods will remain open. Announcing the lockdown, CM Kejriwal appealed to people to stay in their homes.


These services will be closed


1. No public transport will run during lockdown. Private buses, taxis, rickshaws, e-rickshaws will remain closed in this. DTC buses will run 25 percent.

2. All shops, markets, offices, godowns, weekly markets, establishments in Delhi will remain closed.

3. All the borders adjoining Delhi will be sealed, but necessary goods will come.

4. Interstate buses, trains and metro stops.

5. International flight suspension in Delhi.

6. All construction work stopped in Delhi.

7. All religious centers, irrespective of religion, will be closed.

8. Private offices will remain closed in Delhi but employees will remain on duty. In such a situation, employees will have to pay full salary. Whether it is permanent or on contract.


These services will continue


1. All offices of law enforcement and magistrates will remain open.

2. Police work will continue.

3. All hospital, fire work will continue.

4. Ration shops will remain open.

5. Electricity offices will be open.

6. All departments related to water supply will remain open. The work of the municipal corporation will continue.

7. Delhi Assembly has a budget session. In this case, there will be work in all the departments associated with it.

8. The work of print and electronic media will continue.

9. Cashiers will remain in banks so that people can withdraw their money.

10. Telecom, internet and broadband service will continue.

11. All important things like food and medicine will continue. Chemists and medicine shops will remain open.

12. Food related shops like – grocery, milk, meat shops will be open.

13. Work will continue in the milk plant.

14. General grocery stores will remain open.

15. Only takeaway and home delivery from the restaurant.

16. Petrol and LPG agencies will remain open.

17. Shops selling food and beverages of animals will remain open.

Announcing the lockdown, CM Kejriwal said that if any person meets on the road and is asked where he is going, then if he says that he is going to provide the necessary facilities, then he will be obeyed. . There is no need to give him a certificate about this.

CM Arvind Kejriwal said that his words will be accepted by trusting the public. At the same time, no more than 5 or 5 people will be allowed to gather. At the same time, whoever violates the rules, strict action will be taken.

How many positive cases in Delhi?


Let us know that the figures of patients infected with Corona virus in the country are constantly increasing. So far, more than 390 positive cases have been reported in the country. At the same time, there have been 26 positive cases in Delhi, out of which 5 have been treated and 1 has died.
